COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MATTHEW S. HEIMAN

Chief Master Sergeant Matthew S. Heiman is the Command Chief for the 157th Air Refueling Wing, New Hampshire Air National Guard, Pease Air National Guard Base. He is the principal advisor to the commander and the wing's senior staff on matters of health, welfare, morale, professional development and the effective utilization of military personnel. 

Chief Heiman enlisted in the Air Force and graduated basic training in July 1984. He attended technical training at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois to become an aircraft Pneudraulics Systems Mechanic. His first assignment was Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, working on F-4 E/G aircraft. He then returned stateside for his second assignment at McGuire AFB, New Jersey and remained on active duty until March 1988, when he elected to Palace Chase into the New Hampshire ANG.


Chief Heiman’s service has spanned over 30 years in a variety of roles. He has served in Aircraft In-Flight Refueling & Pneudraulics, Repair and Reclamation, Isochronal Inspection, Quality Assurance, Education & Training, and as a Flight Chief in the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Additionally, he served at U.S. Air Force Central Command Headquarters, Shaw AFB, South Carolina as the Area of Responsibility Aircraft Manager. During his career, he has participated in operations DESERT SHIELD/STORM, NORTHERN WATCH, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and NOBLE EAGLE. Prior to his current position, the chief was the Quality Assurance Superintendent of the 157th Maintenance Group, New Hampshire Air National Guard.
