New Hampshire Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel James P. Ryan presents a placue to Army Air Force Lieutenant James Couris (ret), September 9, 2009, Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire. To commemorate the 65th anniversary of the christening of the original ?Rose of York?, a B-17G, the 157th Air Refueling Wing has affixed a replica nose art onto one of its Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft. Lt. Couris was stationed at Thurleigh Royal Air Force Base near Bedford, England serving as the B-17G Aircraft Commander in the 306th Bombardment Group, 367th Bombardment Squadron of the U.S. Eigth Army Air Force.
