Lt Col Barbara Jones is the Medical Group Commander for the 157th Air Refueling Wing, Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire. As the Medical Group Commander, she serves as chief medical advisor to the wing commander and is responsible for the medical readiness and healthcare of the Airmen in the wing. Prior to this role, she served as the Public Health Officer, Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire. She served as oversight to the public health, preventive medicine, occupational health, and medical entomology programs to promote health and reduce disease and injury of all airmen.
Lt Col Jones began her Air Force career as a Public Health Officer with the 115th Fighter Wing, Truax Air National Guard Base, Wisconsin in 2013. She attended Public Health Officer training at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she graduated as a Distinguished Graduate. She briefly transferred to the 157th Medical Group, Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire as a Public Health Officer before joining the 104th Fighter Wing, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts in 2016 as a Public Health Officer, where she also served as part of the Homeland Response Force, and supported Hurricane Harvey response. Lt Col Jones was the African Partnership Outbreak Response Alliance representative for the state of Massachusetts from 2018 to 2023. Lt Col Jones has served her entire military career as a traditional guardsman in the Air National Guard.
