509th Bombardment Wing
The 509th Bombardment Wing was located at Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire from 1958 until 1991. The wing is currently located at Whiteman AFB, Missouri as the 509th Bomb Wing and equipped with the B-2 and T-38. The 509th Bomb Wing patch carries a unique piece of heraldry with it. Its the only patch in the Air Force that's authorized to contain artistic renditions of the giant plumes of smoke unique to atomic weapons.
