A Thirst for Firsts Published April 13, 2010 By TSgt Angela Stebbins 157th ARW Pease ANGB -- At 2pm Saturday April 10, TSgt. Lisa A. Williams, non-commissioned officer in charge(NCOIC) of Commanders Support Staff(CSS), 64th Air Refueling Squadron (64 ARS), 22nd Operations Group, here at Pease Air National Guard Base, re-enlisted for another four years of service in the Air Force. She was sworn in by her commanding officer, Lt. Col. Christopher D. Leist. She has been in the service for 13.5 years serving full time active duty, coming to Pease as part of the Active Associate unit established here in October 2009. In December of 2008, the 157th Air Refueling Wing(ARW), located at Pease Air National Guard Base(ANGB), was named as one of the three units nationwide selected as a KC-135 Active Associate unit, with July 09 slated for start of this integration. Pease was selected to become one of the first active associate units because of its reputation for excellence, the high tempo of operations, and its prime coastal location for executing the air refueling mission. Williams was the first to arrive here at Pease under the active associate in May of 2009, and now, she is the first out of the group to reenlist while serving here as well. Williams had several family members here from Rhode Island and Massachusetts to share in her re-enlistment ceremony to include her mother, Donna Dyson and father, Robert DaRosa, her grandmother and grandfather, John and Rhoda Dyson, her sister and niece, Christina and Siobhan Pelletier, as well as a friend of the family, David Sumner. Williams is originally from Rhode Island, so she enjoys being stationed so close to home.
