Get ready to strap on your running shoes because it's time to sign up for the fifth annual Pease 7K Road Race July 19 at the Langdon Public Library in Newington, N.H. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., with a race start time of 8 a.m.

The cost to enter is $20.00 for those who register online, or $25.00 for those who register the day of the race. Children under 12 are free.

The race, now a certified course, will begin at the intersection of Short Street and Arboretum Drive and run through Newington Center Historic District.

Kids can run for fun and prizes in the Kids Fun Run. A 100-yard dash for kids 5 and under is offered, and a half-mile dash for kids ages 6 through 12.

According to organizers, last year more than $5,000 was raised for the Pease Kids' Corps and the Pease Minuteman Fund.

The Pease Kids' Corps is an on-base organization that sponsors children living with life threating diseases. Proceeds that go to the organization will help organize a day of fun for them. They are given an Air Force bomber jacket, brought on a tour of the base to visit many of the base units, provided an opportunity to fly a KC-157 Flight Simulator and enjoy a special lunch.

The Pease Minuteman Fund is a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the moral and welfare of members of the N.H. Air National Guard. The contributions will go towards events for member.
