At one time or another we have all needed a document notarized. The legal office here provides that service free of charge for uniformed servicemembers, whether in the Air National Guard, Reserve or active duty component. Dependents, retirees and their dependents are also eligible.

Military notaries are empowered to administer oaths and to certify documents as genuine by federal statute and New Hampshire State law. Many of the most common notarial acts the legal office might perform are witnessing signatures and administering oaths for sworn affidavits.

The judge advocate or paralegal performing as notary is required to positively identify the person receiving the service and must ensure the person is actually in their presence when the notarial act is performed. The combination of the personal appearance and positive identification requirements under both federal and state law allows the military notary's signature to be universally accepted in all states and United States territories.

The legal office is staffed by traditional guard members who are normally present only on drill weekends and are located in Building 100 in Room 219. For an appointment, please call Tech. Sgt. Robyn Hansen or Staff Sgt. Grant Nichols at 603-430-2758.
