Environmental impact analysis hearings scheduled

  • Published
The National Guard Bureau has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate the potential environmental consequences that could result from the proposed beddown of KC-46A aircraft. The NGB proposes to beddown 12 KC-46A aircraft at one of five alternative locations: Forbes Air National Guard Station, Kansas; Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey; Pease ANGB, New Hampshire; Pittsburgh ANGS, Pennsylvania; and Rickenbacker ANGS, Ohio.

A public hearing will be held locally March 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Portsmouth City Hall. All members of the public and press are invited to attend this local hearing.

The hearings are a forum for the NGB to identify and collect public comments on the Draft EIS. The complete analysis is provided in the Draft EIS, which has been provided for public review and comment. The Draft EIS is available for review:

A 45-day public comment period will begin Feb. 7, 2014, providing the public an opportunity to review the Draft EIS and com-ment on the analysis either in writing or at the public hearings. Public comments made during the hearings and received by March 24 will be considered in the preparation of Final EIS.

Comments received after the deadline will be reviewed, but may not be addressed in the Final EIS.

Please forward comments to the KC-46A EIS Project Manager, NGB/A7AM, Shepperd Hall, 3501 Fetchet Avenue, Joint Base Andrews, MD 20762-5157 or submit via email, ang.env.comments@ang.af.mil.
