Airmen focused on Airmen

PEASE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.H. -- A Community Action Information Board has been established to serve as a forum to identify and resolves issues with the wing that impact the readiness of members and their family.

The mission of the CAIB is to enhance the member's ability to function as a productive member of the Air Force community.

"The CAIB is chaired by the wing commander and attended by group commanders," said Capt. Suzanne Lamb, 157th Air Refueling Wing Equal Opportunity director. "In conjunction with the CAIB, the Integrated Delivery System has also been established."

IDS membership mirrors the CAIB but at a lower rank level and includes representation from the Airman and Family Readiness Program, Mental Health and Sexual Assault Prevent and Response Program.

"The IDS is the 'action-arm' of the CAIB, doing the research and identification of issues affecting the wing and advising the CAIB on potential resolutions," Lamb said. "They will do so by formulating a community action plan and tracking applicable data and trends."

Airmen can help with this initiative by participating in the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) Defense Equal Opportunity Climate Survey (DEOCS).

"Airmen are encouraged to provide feedback to base leadership about issues impacting the climate of the organization through DEOMI and DEOCS," said Lamb. "Impacts such as workplace discrimination based on religion, race, ethnicity, or gender among a few."

Additionally, the CAIB measures trends relating to sexual harassment, overall job contentment and more.

"There is also an opportunity to answer some open-ended questions and provide your direct thoughts to your leadership and propose changes that would benefit the wing," she said.

The survey takes about 20 minutes of your time and is anonymous. Demographic information is asked solely to track trends but do not identify anyone specifically.

"Our base community can improve based on your valuable feedback," said Lamb. "I challenge Airmen to participate in this valuable tool."

If interested in completing the survey, visit theCAC enabled siteĀ https://www.deocs.net/user/login/login02.cfm or for further information, contact Capt. Suzanne Lamb at Suzanne.lamb@ang.af.mil.
